Instruct a UK debt collection agency for unpaid B2B invoices
When a commercial invoice is seriously overdue, internal credit control has a natural limit. Instruct us. We take the file. We get recovery moving. A specialist partner agency is assigned to collect. Recovery is not guaranteed.
Debt Collection UK is a trading name of PASECOM GROUP LTD. We take B2B files and introduce them to a partner agency. We are not a law firm. We are not authorised by the FCA. We do not take consumer debt.
B2B only
Commercial recovery and consumer recovery are different legal disciplines. We take claims against limited companies, LLPs and sole traders acting in a business capacity. Consumer files are not accepted.
What instructing actually does
- We take the file — invoice, debtor and the facts.
- We review it as a commercial claim.
- A specialist partner agency is assigned to collect.
- The creditor may have rights under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Those rights are not a guarantee of collection.
When to instruct
Escalate once your own terms are past due and reminders are being ignored — or as soon as the debtor refuses to pay. Speed can help; it is not a guarantee of recovery.
What a debt collection agency can — and cannot — do
A partner can demand the sum, add statutory late-payment figures where the 1998 Act applies, send a letter before action, and get the file ready for a county court claim. It cannot seize stock, freeze a bank account, or attend as if it were a court enforcement agent. Read what a UK debt collection agency can (and cannot) do with a commercial invoice.
An agency is usually the first step on an undisputed B2B invoice. A solicitor is for a genuine contractual dispute or reserved legal work you want a law firm to run. Instruct via this page or the unpaid invoices form. We introduce the file; we do not issue proceedings.
How do I choose the right debt collection agency?
You do not have to shortlist firms yourself. Submit the invoice and debtor details through this portal. We route the claim to a specialist agency in our vetted UK network with experience of the relevant debt type — unpaid invoices, corporate recovery, commercial rent arrears, or cross-border claims.
What fees do debt collection agencies charge?
Submitting a claim through this portal is free. Most partner agencies work on a no-collection, no-fee (commission) basis. You agree the partner’s own terms and commission before they start recovery. Under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, reasonable recovery costs can often be added to the debtor’s balance.
What actions will the agency take against the debtor?
A reputable commercial agency typically starts with pre-legal contact: a Letter Before Action, telephone demands and tracing. If the debtor does not engage, the agency will discuss legal options with you, which may include a county court claim or a statutory demand. Those steps are taken by the partner, not by this portal.
Can a debt collection agency guarantee recovery?
No honest agency can guarantee recovery. Insolvency, a genuine dispute, or missing paperwork can make collection impossible. Instructing a specialist partner generally improves the prospects compared with internal chasing alone — it is not a guarantee.
Do I have to go to court?
Many undisputed B2B debts are resolved in the pre-legal phase. If the matter proceeds to the small claims track or a County Court Judgment, the partner agency (or its legal contacts) will explain the process and the costs before you decide.
Can a debt collection agency seize goods or freeze a bank account?
No. Taking control of goods and freezing accounts are court enforcement steps after a judgment, carried out by certified enforcement agents — not by a collection agency on an unpaid invoice. A partner can demand payment and send a letter before action. They cannot attend as if they were a bailiff.
Should I instruct an agency or a solicitor first?
On an undisputed B2B invoice, a commercial recovery agency is usually the first step: demand, letter before action, then advice on a claim. Instruct a solicitor if there is a genuine contractual dispute or you want a law firm to issue proceedings. We are not solicitors. We introduce the file to a partner agency.
